Coeliac cooking and baking

In our restaurant we are seeing year on year a high incidence of life-long intolerance to gluten the protein found in cereals. The result of this is the surface of the intestine is no longer able to digest and absorb food and nutrients. Coeliac intolerance affects approximately 1in 100 people in Ireland. To help people and their families understand this problem we are putting together this interesting day of cooking without gluten. We will also talk you through general information on what you can safely include in your diet and what you must avoid and also how to avoid cross contamination of flour. Food can still be exciting to prepare and this we will work on with you during the day. We will also share our knowledge of the hidden gluten found in so many pre-prepared foods. Join us for this day of experimentation and sharing.
